Sustainable Indiana has an illustrious history of providing some important services in West Central Indiana. Much of the credit for most of these projects should be given to our founder, Frank Cicela, who had a clear vision of a dynamic and vital organization - and proceeded to make it a reality!
The Indiana Energy Conference - Our most high profile projects were the two Indiana Energy Conferences, which were held in 2006 & 2007. Both took place over the course of four consecutive Saturdays in January of each year.
The Sustainability Library - We assembled a library of a few thousand titles and, by means of a grant from Timpmont REMC's "EnviroWatts" program, donated the library to the Crawfordsville Public Library.
The Permaculture Workshop - This was a pet project of founding member John Easton, who has been an enthusiast about the principles of permaculture for many years.
The Bicycle Repair Clinics - This was put together with the help of "Rotten Robbie's," a local bicycle store. As this was a very successful project, we have often considered holding them again. Stay tuned!
